When an opportunity comes up to try something new with something you have photographed a few dozen times...you grab it with both hands and dive in! The Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado seemed like a great opportunity to make use of macro lenses for close-up shots of these gorgeous fluttering things. What set this apart from other macro-shoots was the ability to use tripods and speedlights. Like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly, this simple display of grace transformed something ordinary into a truly breathtaking moment. This also provided a rare but deeply cherished opportunity in which I was able to meet some great photographers from the area to share our love and passion for photography. I left the event that day feeling energized and refreshed! Enjoy the photos, and as always, share and comment as much as you want! Just give me a shout-out if you do!
