There are few better feelings in the world than giving back to the community by helping a worthwhile cause succeed. It doesn't have to be a grand gesture or something way above and beyond; something as simple as volunteering your time and talents can make a tremendous difference. I was especially honored to be a part of the annual Red Ball, an event which helps to cultivate awareness and raise funds to support ongoing scientific research, by donating a few hours on the evening of November 20th to provide photographic coverage of the night's proceedings.
The best hair stylists, fashion designers, and make-up artists from around the greater Denver area gathered together to help make this year's festivities a success, and I was fortunate enough to have a backstage pass to document the evening. Events like this involve countless hours of hard work, a healthy dose of determination, and some tears along the way, though, in the end, it's all worth it. To see so many hugely talented professionals working together to bring Denver's highest social event to life was absolutely incredible. Each year, this celebration highlighting cutting edge fashion and high-style hair design is thrown to benefit the Denver AIDS Project and World AIDS Day. This one-night only soiree sets its aim to stand in solidarity with the millions of people each year who receive an HIV/AIDS diagnosis and strives to strip away the stigma from a condition which science comes closer to curing each year.
Step past the pulled back curtain to immerse yourself in the images created during this awe-inspiring evening.
If you find that this is something which resonates within your heart, please donate in one way or another to any of the three causes at the heart of this fantastic community event.
