I'm Erik Holladay, A former High Schooler
I know, I know. Pretty much everyone on the planet is a former high schooler, but I figured I'd just remind anyone reading this "about me" section that I, too, have walked those long school halls. I survived those years by getting to know my classmates through photography. I was a part of the yearbook, theater, and athletics. I was the nerdiest athlete/artist ever, which by the way, confused soooo many people. I loved it.
I photographed every aspect of all those parts of my life. I was able to get to know so many different passions and learn a ton about my friends and classmates by just using photographs.
I've been photographing high school students for their senior portraits for going on four years. And you know what? I love every second of it, from learning about students' passions and interests to hearing about their future plans, to helping them plan outfits, props and backdrops for their senior portraits.
First off, forget all you think you know about senior photos. I don't do cliché shots on the railroad tracks or leaning awkwardly against a brick wall. This experience is going to be AWESOME. I want to collaborate with you to create amazing artwork and capture this super amazing time in your life. Every image will reflect your tastes, your interests and your personality. I want to feel like we are on the set of a huge magazine shoot. I excel at "sportraits" that could be published in any major sporting magazine and cross my fingers to one day be published in a fashion magazine.
A solid couple of months before your session is the best time to start thinking about the big day. After all, these pictures are immortalized. Your friends will see them, and I can pretty much guarantee your grandparents will put them on display.
Don't Stray from your Personal Style.
Give your outfits a test run.
Looking for outfit inspiration?
Props aren't just pretty scenery! They're meaningful items that express who you are, and they might just tie the whole image together.
Think outside the box: are you an athlete? Car enthusiast? Love video games? In a band? Then your picture should get creative with your shin-guards, gaming console, automobile, or guitar!
Where your photo is taken goes along with the props. I have a whole list of locations to choose from and we'll talk details once your book.
Meanwhile, get the gears turning. Think about what kind of vibe you want for your pictures. Is it earthy? Urban? Academic?
What happens if I get sick or it rains?
No worries, kid. I've got your back! We can always reschedule your senior session if the weather's not cooperating or if you catch a cold.
What kinds of products do you offer?
All sorts. Your parents are probably interested in the gift prints, albums and gallery wraps. You may be more interested in graduation invites, wallet prints, and digital files to post to social media. Contact me to find out more.
How many outfit changes and props can I have?
As many as you want! Just keep in mind that the time you spend changing or setting up is part of your session.
